the last 30 years print media had been a successful industry, however due to technology becoming advanced such as TV and the internet, the print media has had a drastic decline in its value and sales.

The independent is one of the latest newspapers to the fall in print industry, therefore there is a clear and viable piece of evidence that displays the death of print media with the independent only being the i now a newspaper that was at the time considered a back up or substitute but has now taken centre stage due to people not being interested in broadsheet newspapers.
